This site on the internet is devoted to all aspects of life that relate to joyful living and happiness. While we are mostly concerned with finding fulfillment and contentment in the later years of life, our focus here will not be exclusively on seniors.
After all, those in their thirties, forties, and fifties have a great interest in developing lives that are bright and cheerful. And for two reasons:
So, whatever your age, we solicit your advice, experience, and comments. If you will contribute, we'd like that. If you can't or don't wish to contribute, perhaps you will find a worthwhile nugget or thought that will help you either now or later on...or perhaps give you an idea of how to chart the way for your parents to be just a little happier.
We would like this place on the net to be one where you can share your observations or advice, whatever your age, and where you can find new ways to have a life full of joy and contentment.
If you are younger, we would like for this to be where you can come to fill up your tank and go away refreshed and just a tad happier and encouraged.
We would like this to be a place where the older folks can come and share their experiences and give the rest of us encouragement...a place where the over-70 crowd can not only find mutual support and inspiration but also share their own solutions to some of our common problems.
For instance, even though I'm aging, I don't see things any differently. As I look out through these same old eyeballs that I've used for 79 years, I see the world out there with all its obvious changes; but that's on the OTHER side of my vision...nothing on THIS side has changed. Down in here where I am I haven't changed since I was twenty. I look out on a different world from exactly the same inside consciousness I have always known . I am still me. My mind is still the same. The ME I've always known and loved and admired
is still the same guy who lurks somewhere inside looking out on a world not very much like the one I enjoyed so much in the 1940's and 1950's.
THAT'S WHERE YOU COME IN!
WE'D LIKE TO collect your thoughts and ideas...stories of how people in our age bracket have dealt with some of the problems we encounter as we march blindly off into our 60's, 70's, and 80's and beyond (we hope).
Perhaps such things as:
Have you been successful in finding joy and happiness in these later years?
Have you been able to adjust to or overcome one of the nagging inconveniences (or even major catastrophes) of aging?
Do you have a little story to tell? Have you found an answer or partial answer for yourself?
If you can share a story, a comment, or even a long discussion, perhaps it will help someone else who is struggling with the same problem. It just might help someone move a little closer to the happy life they are looking for.
It doesn't have to be long or eloquent...just something to cheer the rest of us up a bit and give us hope based on a realization that we're not alone in this pickle.
NOW...if you'd like to see what thoughts others have had on finding joy, contentment, and happiness in the later years, take a look and hopefully you'll be inspired to toss in a few of your own. ( Click here, please, to see instructions about doing this and to read responses of others.)
