Interest in one's family history and roots seems to be something that comes along with age, and since retiring I have made several efforts to do something about my own genealogy. I was in my mid-sixties when I first gave it a go, but I found it difficult to spend hours poring over microfilms in a dark room at the local LDS library. So I hired a trainer and took up boxing. More fun than reading microfilms.
I got interested again as more and more material became available on the internet, but about that time I had to take up full time caregiving for my wife, and that ended that. Certainly I had not developed any skill, and the data I did collect was far from complete. Lots of holes (I think).
I belong to a couple of Listserves and receive a lot of email on the subject, but time still doesn't permit me to do any serious research. Nevertheless I am bold to post here three of our lineages mostly in the hope that somebody will read them and give me a boost.
Here are three family lines...two of mine and one of Judy's:
| The LaRoche line. This is Judy's line, and I took it directly from her DAR papers. No research by me...I copied it! | LaRoche--back to 1679 |
| The Grubbs line. Haven't been able to go back beyond Benjamin Grubbs. If you have anything to help I'll sure appreciate hearing from you. | Grubbs--back to 1756 |
| The Pace line (My mother was a Pace). I have a feeling that I have something wrong here, but I'm not sure. Help!! | Pace--back to 1580 |
