|
Here is a collection of pictures taken in France and Belgium during the period that the 3104th was in Europe. I am most grateful to all those who have entrusted me with their pictures and allowed me to scan and publish them here.
If you have any pictures I would really like to add them to the collection with appropriate credit. Please send them to me and I will scan them and return them immediately. If you'd rather not, then take them to a local photo shop, have them scanned, and send me the disk. Or, if you wish, send them as a file (bmp files preferred, but any standard format will do).
Some of the pictures are a little flat. Developer and hypo were in extremely short supply in France, and the French photo shops had to use their chemicals far beyond their useful life. That didn't do much for the quality, so I've had to do some restoration.
I've made the files as small as possible in order to minimize loading time, so most of them will load in about 10 seconds. However, the group pictures are in large files in order to preserve detail. They may take over a minute to download unless you have a broadband connection. |

| Cronenberg Photographs
|
These pictures were taken by Charles "Chic" Cronenberg. Sadly, Chic passed away in 1997, and these pictures were kindly furnished by Mrs. Connie Cronenberg. Unfortunately, the identity of the people in the group pictures (other than Mr. Cronenberg) is unknown. If you know who these people are, please be kind enough to respond using the form provided with the picture.
Like the others, these pictures are set up so that you can view them in two different ways:
1. In a kind of "circle". Click here and you will be taken to the first picture. From there, you can view them in sequence, finally returning to this page. Use the slide-out menu to navigate. You can return to this page at any time.
2. Look at the pictures in any sequence you like by clicking on the index below.

| Landes Photographs
|
These pictures were found among the memorabilia of George Landes by his son, Mark. Although George is no longer with us, Mark has generously shared them with us. In addition, there are some other items (German items, battalion orders, etc., etc.) which Mark has provided. These may be found in another area of this website.

| Tately Photographs
|
The following two pictures were furnished by Harold Tately who served as a cryptographer in Company "A". The first picture is of the crypto team with which he served and which is discussed in the unit history. The second picture was taken by and published in The Boston Globe upon the arrival in Boston of the Henry Gibbins. An article which appeared in The Boston Globe can be seen under "Diaries, Documents, and Data".
